Self-Schedule an Appointment

Yale Medicine provides the convenience of self-scheduling a doctor’s appointment for both new and returning patients. Appointments can be made online or through your MyChart account.

New patients are those who are new to a specific doctor, not necessarily new to Yale Medicine. To schedule an appointment online:

• Click on “Specialists” in the main navigation
• Search for a doctor by name, specialty, or condition.
• Once you have found a doctor you would like to see, click on that doctor’s name to go to their profile page, and click “Book Appointment.” Then fill out the form and follow the instructions.

Self-scheduling for new patient appointments is available for some, but not all, Yale Medicine doctors. In some cases, you may be told that a referral from your primary care physician is required, and you will be given a phone number to call for more information.

Returning patients can schedule an appointment with a Yale Medicine doctor through MyChart:

• Log in to your MyChart account.
• Click on the “Visits” tab at the top of the page
• Choose “Schedule an Appointment.”
• Select if you will schedule the appointment yourself or send a request for an appointment to your provider.

If you are using the MyChart app on a mobile device, simply click the “Appointments” icon, and then “Schedule an Appointment.”
