Kiran Sheikh, MD

Kiran Sheikh, MD, is a radiologist and breast imaging specialist who sees patients for screening and diagnostic breast imaging, which includes 3-D mammography (tomosynthesis), ultrasounds and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) tests. She also performs breast biopsies, aspirations, and needle localizations.

“Since 1 in 8 women have a risk of breast cancer during their lifetime, every woman who gets a mammogram is taking a tremendous step towards her self-care,” Dr. Sheikh says.

She promotes the importance of educating patients about their diagnosis and helping them understand their biopsy results.

“I am in constant admiration of the strength of all breast cancer patients who take care of themselves and their families while surviving this disease, including my mother who is a breast cancer survivor,” Dr. Sheikh says.

Her research interests center on ways to optimize digital breast tomosynthesis, breast ultrasound, and breast MRI to better evaluate breast disease.
