Biography

Ami Rubinowitz, MD, is a thoracic radiologist in the Department of Radiology & Biomedical Imaging, whose specific area of interest is interstitial lung disease.

Dr. Rubinowitz says what she loves most about her work is being able to pick up early or subtle disease on imaging studies, as well as finding specific clues to a diagnosis. “This helps patients have a better outcome by being diagnosed and treated earlier, which ultimately makes a positive difference in their lives,” Dr. Rubinowitz says.

She likes to reassure concerned patients. “They are in good hands here and are being taken care of by some of the best and brightest doctors in their field,” she says. An authority in her field, her opinion is routinely sought after not only by physicians at Yale, but also by patients and physicians from other institutions.

At Yale School of Medicine, Dr. Rubinowitz is also an associate professor of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging. “I enjoy working with and teaching the next generation of physicians at different levels in their training, including medical students, interns, residents, and fellows. It’s fun interacting with them, keeps me up to date on the newest advances in the field, and is part of the intellectual challenge that attracted me to medicine,“ she says.
