Karin Nystrom, MSN, APRN, specializes in vascular neurology, focusing on ischemic stroke and transient ischemic attack, a brief interruption of blood flow to the brain that can cause stroke-like symptoms. She diagnoses and treats patients with these conditions, providing comprehensive care and management to support recovery and prevent recurrence.

Nystrom’s expertise in stroke and cerebrovascular disease spans more than 20 years. Her background in cardiology, including care for patients with heart failure and heart transplants, informs her approach to stroke care. She has co-authored scholarly articles in cardiology and vascular neurology and has contributed to clinical practice guidelines for the American Heart Association, the American Stroke Association, and the American Telemedicine Association.
