Deepika Garg, MD, is a reproductive endocrinology and infertility (REI) specialist who provides individualized, compassionate care tailored to each patient’s goals and needs. Nora Miller, MD, is a reproductive endocrinologist and infertility (REI) specialist, who makes a point to call her pregnant patients close to their due date—and a year later to check up on mother and child. As an REI physician, Dr. Miller often helps couples struggling with infertility. And once pregnancy is achieved—through in vitro fertilization (IVF) or other methods—she sends patients back to their community obstetrician-gynecologist for the remainder of their care. “I build strong, intimate relationships with my patients. It’s not just coming to me once a year for a checkup,” says Dr. Miller, who practices in Greenwich. “They are often emotional and scared, and it’s great to be able to help them. Years later, couples will tell me they think of me on their child’s birthday every year.” Dr. Miller says she knew from a young age that she wanted to be a physician. “I thought there could be nothing more rewarding than to help people, and then in medical school, I did a rotation in REI where there was a patient with an unusual condition,” she says. “That’s when I knew REI, with its intellectual side, would be a good fit for me. I’m excited to wake up every day and go take care of patients.” She says she also enjoys the psychological aspect of her job. “I definitely hold my patients’ hands and remind them that they need to be patient,“ she says. “Treatments just keep getting better and better.”
