Biography

Alexis Loss, PA-C, is a physician assistant who provides preoperative and postoperative care for patients who are treated by Yale Medicine Bariatric & Minimally Invasive Surgery.

“I had always desired a career in a field where I can impact people’s lives,” Loss says. “Medicine allows me the opportunity to both educate individuals to improve their health through the use of non-invasive measures, as well as provide additional medical care when needed to help individuals reach their health goals.”

Loss became interested in bariatric surgery to treat obesity while doing clinical rotations as part of her PA program, when she noticed that it helped patients who were struggling with obesity make permanent life changes that could help them stay healthy.

Her interests include nutrition, and the relationship between obesity and mental health. “I feel so honored every day to work with patients on improving their lives,” Loss says.
