Thoracic Endovascular Aortic Repair (TEVAR)

Definition

Thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) is a minimally invasive surgical procedure used to treat thoracic aortic aneurysms and other thoracic aortic conditions. It involves the insertion of a stent-graft through a small incision in the groin, which is then guided into the affected area of the aorta using imaging guidance. The stent-graft reinforces the weakened aortic wall, preventing rupture and alleviating symptoms.
