Definition

A lymph node biopsy/dissection is a medical procedure in which a sample of lymph node tissue is removed and examined under a microscope to diagnose or rule out various conditions, such as infections, autoimmune disorders, or cancer. The procedure can be performed using a needle biopsy, an open biopsy, or a sentinel lymph node biopsy.
