Follicular cancer of the thyroid is a type of thyroid cancer that arises from the follicular cells of the thyroid gland. It is the second most common type of thyroid cancer and is usually slow growing. Follicular thyroid cancer can spread to nearby lymph nodes and distant organs, such as the lungs and bones.
