Definition

Chondromalacia patellae, also known as runner's knee, is a condition characterized by the softening and degeneration of the cartilage on the underside of the patella (kneecap). This can lead to pain, inflammation, and reduced function in the knee joint. It is commonly caused by overuse, injury, or misalignment of the patella.
