Atherosclerosis of the Aorta

Atherosclerosis of the aorta is a condition characterized by the buildup of plaque, consisting of fat, cholesterol, calcium, and other substances, on the inner walls of the aorta. This can lead to narrowing and hardening of the aorta, reducing blood flow and increasing the risk of complications such as aneurysms, dissections, and peripheral artery disease.
