Alagille syndrome is a rare genetic disorder that affects the development of bile ducts in the liver. Bile builds up in the liver because it cannot drain properly, leading to liver damage. This condition can cause yellow skin or eyes, itching, delayed growth, heart defects, distinctive facial features, kidney disease, and enlarged spleen.
