Biography

Stephen Huot, MD, PhD, is a nephrologist who cares for people with kidney-related conditions, with a particular focus on managing hypertension (high blood pressure) and diabetes. He works closely with patients to develop treatment plans for chronic disease in the outpatient setting.

As a professor of medicine at Yale School of Medicine, Dr. Huot’s research explores ways to enhance medical education by evaluating clinical competence, strengthening faculty development, and organizing training programs to improve patient care. He also studies the impact of quality improvement on treating high blood pressure.

Dr. Huot received his medical training from Duke University and pursued residency and fellowship at Yale School of Medicine. He has been honored nationally with the Herbert Nickens Award from the Society of General Internal Medicine and with the Volunteerism Award from the American College of Physicians.
