Joohyun Kim, MD, PhD, FACS

Joohyun Kim, MD, PhD, is a transplant and hepatobiliary surgeon, specializing in adult and pediatric liver and kidney transplantation. He focuses on complex liver transplant procedures, including those for high-risk patients and living donors. As an associate professor at Yale School of Medicine, Dr. Kim leads research aimed at improving organ preservation and developing new strategies for temporary liver support. His work contributes to advancements in determining donor organ viability and improving patient outcomes. Dr. Kim received his medical training from Kyung Hee University School of Medicine in South Korea, and completed fellowships in general surgery and specialized transplantation at Seoul National University Hospital and Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center.
