Jessica Pipitone Stanek, MSN, CNM
Jessica Pipitone Stanek is a Certified Nurse-Midwife with her Master’s of Science in Nursing from Yale University and a Bachelor’s of Arts in Biology and Spanish from Ithaca College.
She began her career in Women’s Healthcare as a medical assistant at Planned Parenthood Federation of America and as an HIV/AIDS counselor in Western New York. She lived in Central America doing social justice organizing and education for a non-for-profit organization called Witness for Peace in 2000. It was there she realized her obligation as a global citizen to advocate for equal access to dignified healthcare for women and families everywhere.
She became a Certified Nurse-Midwife in 2006 and has worked in private practice and at an accredited birth center before joining Yale Medicine. Her past research interests include the birth experience for women in Nicaragua.
She is a Lecturer at Yale University School of Nursing, a Clinical Instructor for Yale University School of Medicine and a Certified Lactation Counselor. Her current employment as a Yale Midwife allows her the opportunity for full-scope midwifery while she and her husband raise their three vibrant children in Connecticut.
