Biography
Gaia Mohr-Tonachini, MMSc, PA-C, is a physician associate specializing in neurosurgery with a focus on spinal conditions.
She cares for patients with spinal conditions, including degenerative diseases, spine trauma, and spine oncology. Mohr-Tonachini works closely with spine surgeons to assess, diagnose, and manage complex cases, aiming to improve patient outcomes through both surgical and non-surgical interventions. “Patients are in capable hands with our comprehensive team,” she says.
Mohr-Tonachini emphasizes the support provided by the neurosurgical team and the importance of clear communication. “I always explain diagnostic study results in detail and review all treatment options to help ease any anxiety,” she says. “Patients appreciate having a point person who is with them every step of the way, from the initial evaluation to their post-operative visits.
She manages various spine cases, using advanced imaging techniques—including X-ray, CT scan, SPECT bone CT, CT Myelogram, and MRI—to support patient understanding and patient-centered decision-making.
“My favorite part of working in neurosurgery spine is the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patients’ lives,” Mohr-Tonachini says. “Seeing them regain function and quality of life before, during, and after treatment is deeply rewarding.”
