Elsa Jimenez-Francis
Biography
Elsa Jimenez-Francis, MS, is a marriage and family therapist with 28 years of working in mental health services. She works with children, adolescents, and their families. She focuses on supporting young people who are struggling with emotional, behavioral, or family-related challenges.
Jimenez-Francis provides therapy that looks at the whole family system, not just one person. She helps children and teens who may be dealing with anxiety, mood changes, school stress, or conflict at home. She also supports parents and caregivers as they learn new ways to communicate and respond during difficult moments. In her work, she aims to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where families can talk openly, strengthen relationships, and build healthier patterns at home.
At Yale School of Medicine, Jimenez-Francis serves as an instructor of marriage and family therapy, helping to train the next generation of mental health clinicians. In this role, she shares her clinical experience working with youth and families and supports trainees as they develop their own approaches to care.
She earned her master’s degree in marriage and family therapy from Loma Linda University, and is a licensed marriage and family therapist in Connecticut and Georgia.
