Biography
Chris Mansa Laporte, LMSW, is a clinician in the Intensive In-Home Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Services (IICAPS) program at the Yale Child Study Center, Yale School of Medicine, where he has served since July 2024. His clinical work focuses on child, adolescent, and family mental health and well-being, school functioning, individual and family therapy, and community-based interventions. His work also reflects an ongoing commitment to advancing equity through clinical care, public service, and community-engaged practice.
His professional experience includes clinical social work, program evaluation, youth development, and community-based programming through roles with L.E.A.P, Elm City COMPASS, Continuum Care, HangTime & HerTime, and DREAM! (Dare to Revitalize Education through the Arts & Mediation). He also serves as data & surveys evaluator and consultant with More Education Needed LLC for HangTime & HerTime LLC, contributing to program assessment and community-informed evaluation initiatives.
Laporte earned his graduate degree in social work from Columbia School of Social Work. He is a licensed master social worker in Connecticut. His contributions have been recognized through honors including the Newman Civic Fellowship, the Frederick Douglass Unity Award, the Civic Engagement Award, and a City of Bridgeport Mayoral Citation.
