Harry Aslanian, MD, is known for his highly advanced skills in using specialized technology to treat pancreatic and esophageal disorders, and in performing complex colonoscopies. He uses an endoscope, a thin tube attached to a camera with an ultrasound probe at its tip, used to examine difficult-to-reach organs for accurate diagnosis. When an abnormality is seen, he can pass a small needle through the endoscope to take a biopsy and deliver an immediate diagnosis.

“Momentum is building to lead to significant improvements in the treatment of gastrointestinal cancer,” says Dr. Aslanian, who is associate director of Yale Medicine's Interventional Endoscopy Program. “I continuously seek to improve every endoscopic procedure I perform with attention, education and research.”

Dr. Aslanian, an associate professor of medicine (digestive diseases) at Yale School of Medicine, has been recognized as a “top doctor” in regional rankings.

  • Associate Professor of Medicine (Digestive Diseases)
  • Associate Director, Endoscopy
  • Director, Yale Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship

Clinical Trials

New treatments for many conditions are tested in clinical trials, which ultimately bring lifesaving new drugs and devices to the patients who need them most. By participating in a clinical trial, you may get access to the most advanced treatments for your condition, and help determine their benefits for future patients.
