I am a general cardiologist. In my practice I take a personalized approach to preventing and treating cardiovascular disease, tailoring management to patients' cardiovascular risk as well as their preferences, values and goals. I emphasize nutrition, exercise, stress management and use of evidence-based medications and interventions. My research and community work focus on improving quality of care, including improving access to care, reducing health disparities and developing more personalized, precision-based approaches to diagnosis and treatment.
I am currently funded by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) in Patient Centered Outcomes Research. I am the recipient of a Women's Health Research at Yale grant to study young women with myocardial infarction. I am also a co-founder and Board Member of Project Access-New Haven, a non-profit organization that provides access to specialty care for underinsured patients.
