After completing my anesthesiology residency at University of North Carolina and a Pediatric Anesthesiology fellowship at Children's Hospital Boston, I joined the faculty of Yale University. I have enjoyed being part of the Pediatric Anesthesia Section sinced it was established in 1992. Although initially involved in research of coagulation defects associated with CPB in children, my focus for the last 20 years has been clinical care and education. This includes providing anesthesia services to children having all types of surgery including liver transplants.
Another great interest for me is International Medicine. I have participated in 30 medical missions for surgical care for children. A number of these have been Yale based. I volunteer for several NGOs both as a team member and a member of committees. Currently I am on the Board of ReSurge, International.
