YCSC Westport
Every parent strives to raise happy, healthy, resilient children. At Yale Child Study Center Westport, we partner with families to achieve this goal by providing compassionate care that celebrates children’s strengths, while addressing their social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
Behavioral health services, including psychotherapy and diagnostic evaluation, are available for families with children from birth through age 18. Whether your child is a toddler, teenager, or somewhere in between, we provide evidence-based, individualized therapeutic support designed to promote your child’s overall wellness. We also collaborate with parents and schools to ensure children have the support they need to thrive inside and outside of the therapy room.
Services
We offer evaluation and psychotherapy services for children, teens, and their families. Services include the evaluation and treatment of anxiety, attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and executive functioning. We focus on supporting parenting skills and providing culturally responsive services for children and families.
Our team specializes in working with young children (ages 0-5 years) and youth with language-based learning disabilities. We work closely with schools and provide consultation as needed. This can include school observations, planning and placement team meetings, and ongoing collaboration. Our team helps children, teens and parents in a variety of areas, including:
- Understanding behavioral health challenges
- Coping skills and self-regulation
- Anxiety and stress
- Perfectionism and self-confidence
- Social skills and relationship issues
- ADHD/executive functioning
- Learning disabilities
- Temper tantrums
- Sleep issues
- Adjusting to school and other transitions
- Problematic digital media use
Parenting skills training is also offered, as well as the Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE) intervention. Through this program, we work with parents to help their children overcome anxiety. We also offer virtual group therapy for parents or children.
All neuropsychological assessments, cognitive testing, and autism and developmental assessments are provided at our New Haven location. In Westport, we provide diagnostic evaluations for anxiety, ADHD, executive functioning challenges, and other social–emotional and behavioral difficulties.
Insurance Considerations
Yale Child Study Center is in-network with Aetna, Anthem/BCBS, Medicaid, traditional Medicare, the YNHHS Cigna plan, and Yale Health Magellan. We are out-of-network with all other insurance carriers. We submit claims to both in-network and out-of-network insurance plans on your behalf. Coverage and reimbursement are determined by your individual insurance benefits.
Families are responsible for applicable copays, deductibles, and coinsurance. We encourage you to contact your insurance carrier to understand your behavioral health benefits, coverage requirements, and the out-of-pocket costs you should expect.
