Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine
For our youngest patients, we provide expert care in the neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) at Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital in New Haven, Bridgeport, Greenwich, Waterbury, and Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in New London. Every year, approximately 6,000 babies are born at Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital, and more than 850 newborns are admitted to the NICU. We offer advanced treatments, including extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), a machine that acts as an artificial heart and lungs for a patient, which is crucial for an infant’s life-threatening heart and lung conditions.
