A Radiation Oncologist Explains Breast Cancer Treatment

This information is useful for adults

In this video, radiation oncologist Meena Moran, MD, explains how radiation therapy is used to treat breast cancer. A technology called deep inspiration breath-hold (DIBH) only allows the radiation beam to be delivered when a patient is taking a deep breath, which moves the chest wall away from the heart. And by doing that, less of the heart is being exposed to radiation.

Clinical Trials

New treatments for many conditions are tested in clinical trials, which ultimately bring lifesaving new drugs and devices to the patients who need them most. By participating in a clinical trial, you may get access to the most advanced treatments for your condition, and help determine their benefits for future patients.
