Definition

Uterine polyps, also known as endometrial polyps, are growths that form on the inner lining of the uterus. These polyps are usually noncancerous (benign) but can sometimes become cancerous (malignant). They can cause irregular menstrual bleeding, heavy periods, or postmenopausal bleeding.
