Definition

Urinary tract infection (UTI) is a common condition characterized by the presence of bacteria in the urinary system, causing inflammation and discomfort. It can affect any part of the urinary tract, including the kidneys, bladder, ureters, and urethra. UTIs are more common in women and can result from various causes, such as sexual activity, urinary retention, or use of certain types of birth control.
