Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) is a medical condition that occurs in some women who receive fertility medications to stimulate egg production, particularly during in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatments. It is characterized by the enlargement of the ovaries and an accumulation of fluid in the abdominal cavity, which can cause a range of symptoms and complications.
