Medial Collateral Ligament (MCL) Tear

Definition

A medial collateral ligament (MCL) tear is an injury to the ligament on the inner part of the knee, which connects the thigh bone (femur) to the shin bone (tibia). This injury often occurs due to a sudden impact or force on the outer part of the knee, causing the MCL to stretch or tear.
