Maternal thyroid disorders are a group of conditions affecting the thyroid gland during pregnancy, which can lead to hormonal imbalances and impact both the mother's and the developing fetus's health. These disorders may include hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, thyroid nodules, and autoimmune thyroid diseases such as Hashimoto's thyroiditis and Graves' disease.
