GO MOMs (Glycemic Observation and Metabolic Outcomes in Mothers and Offspring)

  • Study HIC#:2000029893
  • Last Updated:01/10/2024

The purpose of the GO MOMs Study is to better understand what happens to a mother’s metabolism during pregnancy, specifically if she develops gestational diabetes.

Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is a type of diabetes, or high blood sugar, which starts during pregnancy and may go away after the baby is born. GO MOMs researchers want to find a better way to detect GDM, so that moms can get the care they need and their babies can be healthy. We are using a combination of methods to test glucose during pregnancy, lab measures of maternal metabolism, and baby weight after birth.

For this study we are recruiting women who are 10-14 weeks pregnant and are 18 years old or older. All participants will be compensated up to $550 for taking part in the study.

We are looking for 2,150 pregnant women to join this study happening at clinics across the country. If you join you will be in the study during pregnancy and up to three months after baby is born.
