Lymphocytic colitis is a type of inflammatory bowel disease characterized by inflammation of the colon, specifically with an increased number of lymphocytes in the colon lining. This condition often causes chronic, watery diarrhea and abdominal pain, but the colon appears normal during a colonoscopy.
