Laparoscopic partial nephrectomy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that involves the removal of a portion of the kidney affected by a tumor or other abnormal growth, while preserving the healthy tissue. Several incisions are made in the abdomen and a thin tube with a camera and light, and specialized instruments is inserted through the small incisions.
