Graft-Versus-Leukemia Effect

Definition

The graft-versus-leukemia effect is a beneficial immune response that occurs after a stem cell or bone marrow transplant, in which the donor's immune cells recognize and attack the recipient's leukemia cells. This effect can contribute to the eradication of residual leukemia cells.
