Gestational Trophoblastic Disease (GTD)

Definition

Gestational trophoblastic disease (GTD) is a group of rare tumors that involve abnormal growth of cells inside a woman's uterus. GTD is not always cancerous and occurs when a fertilized egg does not result in a normal pregnancy. It can lead to complications such as heavy bleeding, early pregnancy loss, and in some cases, malignant tumors.
