Folliculitis, Boils, & Carbuncles

Definition

Folliculitis, boils, and carbuncles are skin conditions characterized by inflammation and infection of hair follicles, leading to the formation of pus-filled bumps or lumps. Folliculitis is a milder form involving individual hair follicles, while boils are larger, deeper infections. Carbuncles are clusters of boils that merge together, causing more severe pain and inflammation.
