Enterovirus refers to a group of RNA viruses that primarily target the gastrointestinal tract and respiratory system, causing a range of illnesses in humans. These viruses are highly contagious and can spread through contact with infected individuals, contaminated surfaces, or ingestion of contaminated food and water. Common enterovirus infections include hand, foot, and mouth disease, and respiratory illnesses.
