Definition

Cryptosporidiosis is an infectious disease caused by the parasite Cryptosporidium, which primarily affects the gastrointestinal tract. It is transmitted through ingestion of contaminated water or food, or contact with infected individuals or animals. The infection can lead to watery diarrhea, stomach cramps, nausea, vomiting, and fever.
