Complex Sleep Apnea

Definition

Complex sleep apnea is a form of sleep-disordered breathing characterized by a combination of both obstructive sleep apnea, which occurs when the airway becomes blocked during sleep, and central sleep apnea, which occurs when the brain fails to send proper signals to the muscles that control breathing. This condition can lead to disrupted sleep, reduced oxygen levels in the blood, and various health complications.
