Chronic Sinusitis (chronic sinus infection)

Definition

Chronic sinusitis, also known as chronic sinus infection, is a persistent inflammation of the sinuses lasting for 12 weeks or longer. This condition interferes with normal mucus drainage and can cause various symptoms, including nasal congestion, facial pain or pressure, and reduced sense of smell. Chronic sinusitis may be caused by infections, allergies, nasal polyps, or a deviated nasal septum.
