Definition

Cancer is a group of diseases characterized by the uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells in the body. These cells can spread from one part of the body to another. Signs and symptoms vary depending on the type and location of the cancer, and how much it has spread. Common cancer treatments include surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, stem cell transplantation, targeted therapy, and hormone therapy.
