Breast Cancer Chemotherapy

Definition

Breast cancer chemotherapy is a medical treatment that uses a combination of drugs to target and destroy cancer cells in the breast tissue. It is often used as part of a comprehensive treatment plan for breast cancer, which may also include surgery, radiation therapy, and hormone therapy. Chemotherapy can be administered before surgery (neoadjuvant) to shrink the tumor or after surgery (adjuvant) to eliminate any remaining cancer cells and reduce the risk of recurrence.
