Artificial Urinary Sphincter

Definition

An artificial urinary sphincter is a surgically implanted device designed to help control urinary incontinence by mimicking the function of the natural urinary sphincter. It consists of a cuff that wraps around the urethra, a pressure-regulating balloon, and a pump that can be manually operated to inflate or deflate the cuff, allowing for controlled release of urine.
