Accelerated Partial Breast Irradiation (APBI)

Definition

Accelerated partial breast irradiation (APBI) is a targeted radiation therapy technique used to treat early-stage breast cancer. It delivers a higher dose of radiation to the tumor site over a shorter period than traditional therapy, reducing treatment time and minimizing radiation exposure to surrounding healthy tissue.
