Robert Kapel, MD, is a gastroenterologist who is interested in colon cancer screening, reflux, esophageal disease, peptic ulcer disease, and irritable bowel syndrome.

His research has included work on eosinophilic esophagitis(a chronic allergic inflammatory disease of the esophagus, which frequently causes difficulty swallowing), Barrett’s esophagus(a condition in which the lining of the esophagus changes and can be a complication of gastroesophageal reflux), celiac disease, and adherence to endoscopy guidelines.

Dr. Kapel is a fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology and an adjunct assistant professor at Yale School of Medicine.
