Biography

Layne Dylla, MD, PhD, is an emergency medicine physician who cares for adults and children with urgent or life-threatening conditions. She provides rapid assessments, stabilizes injuries and serious infections, and collaborates with others to ensure patients receive the follow-up care they need.

As an assistant professor of emergency medicine at Yale School of Medicine, Dr. Dylla studies new ways to diagnose and treat acute stroke in both the prehospital and emergency department settings, aiming to reduce long-term complications. “The best part of my job is helping patients who may be critically ill or who may lack access to other health care options,” she says.

Dr. Dylla completed her medical training and doctoral degree at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. She pursued her residency in emergency medicine and dual fellowships in experimental therapeutics and emergency medicine research at the University of Rochester Medical Center.
