Megan Roman, MS, PA-C
Biography
Megan Roman, DMSc, PA-C, is a physician assistant who specializes in palliative care. She cares for adults with serious and life-limiting illnesses, helping them manage symptoms and supporting them and their families during complex hospital stays.
In her role on the palliative care team, Roman focuses on easing pain, nausea, shortness of breath, and other distressing symptoms. She also helps patients and loved ones understand their diagnosis and treatment options so they can make decisions that match their values and goals. She works closely with the broader care team to coordinate medical needs while paying attention to emotional, spiritual, and family concerns.
Roman’s path to palliative care began in women’s health and gynecologic oncology. She first trained in women’s health and then spent many years caring for women with gynecologic cancers. During that time, she developed a deep interest in symptom management, end-of-life care, palliative care education, and bioethics.
Roman earned her doctoral degree from The University of Lynchburg and her graduate degree in physician assistant studies from Mercy College. She completed postgraduate training in women’s health at Montefiore Medical Center.
