2026 “Top Doctors” List Includes Hundreds of Yale Medicine Physicians
Nearly 400 physicians from Yale Medicine were included in Connecticut Magazine’s 2026 “Top Doctors” list, which highlights physicians across a range of specialties in the state.
The list is developed in collaboration with Castle Connolly, an independent research organization that identifies physicians based on peer nominations and a review process. Doctors are nominated by other physicians, and researchers evaluate factors such as hospital and academic appointments, research activity, professional reputation, and patient outcomes. The final list represents about the top 7% of practicing physicians in the United States.
For patients and families, recognitions like this can be one of several ways to learn about physicians in their area. Peer-reviewed lists may offer insight into how doctors are regarded within the medical community, though they are only one factor to consider when choosing care.
“Yale Medicine specialists strive to bring the very best in clinical care to each of our patients, every day,” said Margaret McGovern, MD, PhD, CEO of Yale Medicine and deputy dean for Clinical Affairs at Yale School of Medicine.
Patients are encouraged to consider a range of factors when selecting a physician, including a doctor’s experience with a specific condition, communication style, location, and insurance coverage.
