Biography

Orly Levit, MD, is a neonatologist who treats premature infants and diseases of the newborn in the newborn intensive care unit at Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital (YNHCH). She says she is most inspired by the improved survival and better quality of life she sees among small preterm infants. Dr. Levit will go to any lengths to save a patient. She once traveled by snowmobile from her home to the hospital in a record-breaking snowstorm to care for an infant.

Dr. Levit is an associate professor of pediatrics (neonatology), and director of Neonatal Central Line Services and of Neonatal Consultative Services at YNHCH. Her research focuses on the effects of intravenous fat on the neonatal liver.
