Karen B. Dorsey, MD, PhD is an Associate Research Scientist in the Department of Pediatrics at Yale University and a clinical researcher at the Yale New Haven Hospital, Center for Outcomes Research and Evaluation (CORE). Dr. Dorsey earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Virginia and medical degree at Washington University in St. Louis. She completed training in Pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital of New York-Presbyterian and matriculated to the Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars Program at Yale University. She subsequently earned a doctorate in Investigative Medicine from Yale University. Dr. Dorsey conducted research focused on the relationship between obesity and physical activity in children before joining CORE in 2012. She is currently Director of the Division of Measure Reevaluation, Endorsement and Rulemaking for CORE’s claims-based hospital outcome measures and lead's CORE's work on reevaluation and implementation of hospital outcome measures that use data from electronic health records.
