Clinical Research

Finding better treatments for eye diseases and using them to benefit our patients is a major part of what we do at Yale Medicine Ophthalmology. Our principal areas of research include the two most common causes of irreversible blindness, glaucoma and disorders of the retina and visual systems. Our researchers have achieved major advances, including identification of genes that cause macular degeneration.
